Born on Oct. 1, 1943, he passed away peacefully at home in Walford, ON on Feb 12, 2026 at the age of 82. Treasured spouse of Ida Eliane Whalen ( nee Baribeau) in their 60th year. Beloved son of Theodore George and Elizabeth Sarah Whalen (nee Denmark) and stepson of Elizabeth Whalen (nee McChristie ), all pre deceased. Loving father of Patrick (Tammy) of Petawawa, ON., Scot and Jamie, both of Walford, ON. Cherished "Papa Joe" to Amber Gammon (Mike) of Garson ON, children Greyson and Vera Gammon, Marrissa Bob (L j) of Sagamok ON, children Haven, Sage and Cedar Solomon and Saxon Ward/Whalen of Alliston ON. Predeceased by brothers Keith Whalen (Marian), Donald Whalen (Lise Royal, formerly Whalen) of Spanish, ON. Dearly loved "Mon Oncle Joe" or "Uncle Joe" to numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren. Visitation will be held at the Walford Community Centre on Thursday Feb 19, 2026 from 7 to 9 pm. Traditional Latin Requiem Mass will be held at the Walford Community Centre on Friday Feb 20, 2026 at 11am, followed by a luncheon at 12:30pm. For those who are unable to attend the mass, please join us for the luncheon. Interment to be held at a later date in the Walford Catholic Cemetery, Walford, ON.
