Cindy (Hobbs) Salter

My thoughts and prayers are with you all! Jim always had a smile and a 'hello' even if he hadn't seen you in years, he was genuinely interested in how you were. I will never forget seeing him at my own Dad's funeral, the weather was terrible and Jim and Elaine drove to be there anyway, it brought tears to my eyes, such a unselfish and heart felt deed! Enjoy the reunion with the other Hobbs boys Jim! ♥

My condolences Janice. I won't be out of the province and unable to attend, but I want you and your family to know that you will all be in my thoughts next Saturday.

I was fortunate to have met your father last fall when Jim was in Sudbury during the intake clinic at the USW hall. I know what an inspiration he has been to you. I know the journey has been difficult. Please know that you aren't shouldering the grief alone.

Thank-you for everything you've done for miners like your father. Your love for him has made both of you heroes to us all.

Linda,
I am so very sorry for your loss.
I did not have the pleasure of meeting your father, but I know, from your own kindness and generosity as well the outpouring of grief at his passing, that he was a remarkable man who greatly enriched the lives of others.
When such kind souls like this leaves us, their absence is greatly felt.
My sincerest condolences to you and your family...

Warren (Smokey) Thomas

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Jim Hobbs. By all accounts Jim was tremendously proud of his children, one of whom, Janice Martell, has been a dedicated member-activist with the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) and who has been the driving force behind the McIntyre Powder Project. On behalf of OPSEU’s Executive Board, our thoughts are with the Hobbs family in their time of mourning. May the memory of Jim be eternal.

Tania Gilchrist

Love
Tania & John

Rose-Marie and Andy Joanette

Andy and I are sending these words of condolence to all the Hobbs' family with whom we have come acquainted as a result of our dear friendship with Linda and Len. Mr. Hobbs, a husband, father and grandfather touched many lives as we saw demonstrated several times during visits to Marathon. In addition, the stories we heard from Linda about her father were always relayed in the most endearing terms. So too, the public battle that his daughter Janice took on regarding the McIntyre Powder Project is nothing short of spectacular in that she may find justice for so many workers (including her father) who were so cruelly exposed. Mr. Hobbs may you rest in peace and know that the family you raised are a shining example of goodness and love for one another and their fellow men and women. God Bless.
