Betty MacKenzie

MacKenzie, Betty (December 31, 1924 – April 16, 2024)

            Passed away peacefully at Hillside Park Retirement Residence on April 16th, 2024. She was predeceased by her loving husband Kenneth, and her children Katherine and Kenneth Robin. She is survived by her daughters Karen Stewart (Dan) and Andrea Halligan. Also missing her are her grandchildren, Emily and Hillary Stewart, Liam, Meaghan (Matt) and Brendan Halligan (Maria), Meredith (Richard) and Alex (Jenna) MacKenzie. Great grandchildren are Logan and Alexandra Beadon, Henri Richard, Isabelle and Selyna Roy and Tonia. Betty was a life-long dog lover and will be missed by all for her kindness and strength. She was an avid reader and enjoyed history, archeology and nature. She had a vast knowledge of the world. She was an amazing cook. We will all miss her pastry and chicken pot pie. Her life long devotion was to her family. Thanks to the exceptionally kind staff at Hillside Park Retirement Residence for their care and compassion. A memorial service for Betty will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to St. Joseph’s Foundation of Elliot Lake or to an animal shelter of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
